Plot Synopsis
This Victorian comedy, set in a day of parties and disclosures, tells the story of a woman of society and political stature who learns that her husband, a member of Parliament, attained his position and their family's fortune (and thusly, their position) in a most controversial manner. In the end, however, all turns out pleasantly enough. In the meantime is plenty of Wildean chitter-chatter, witticisms, and insight into the Victorian mindset.
